Keukenhof is a beautiful 32-hectare flower garden located in Lisse, the Netherlands. Open from March until May each year, Keukenhof is home to a variety of over 800 types of colourful flowers. It’s a must if you’re visiting the Netherlands in spring.

Accessibility

  • Keukenhof has two entrances: one on either side of the park. Both are wheelchair accessible.

  • Accessible entrances with wide ticket gates

  • Smooth and wide paths

  • Ramps where needed

  • Accessible toilets with grab rails at the entrance and at multiple restaurants throughout the gardens

  • Wheelchairs available to rent (€5 per wheelchair, must be reserved beforehand)

  • Close to public transportation (1 min)

  • Mobility scooters and electric wheelchairs are permitted

  • The children’s playground is sandy (this may be difficult to roll through in a wheelchair)


Toilets

Keukenhof has multiple accessible toilets at various restaurants throughout the gardens. Toilets have grab rails on either side of the toilet. The door is manually operated. Wheelchair users can turn full circle in this space. A side transfer is possible (see photo). There are no Changing Places Toilets. Traveling to Keukenhof

By public transportation

  • Take metro 52 from Amsterdam Central Station in the direction of Station Zuid and get off at Europaplein.

  • At Europaplein you will see signs for bus 852 to Keukenhof.

  • You can buy your bus ticket in advance online (also in combination with your Keukenhof ticket) or scan a QR code at Europaplein to buy one on the spot.

  • If you have a Dutch OV Chipkaart, you can also use this for your journey. Simply scan this before getting on the bus and check out on arrival at Keukenhof.

  • Bus 852 to Keukenhof is an accessible Arriva bus. It has a ramp that can be pulled out by the bus driver and a designated wheelchair area. The bus has space for 1 wheelchair, as can be seen in this photo of the bus wheelchair area.

By car

  • There are no disabled parking spaces at Keukenhof. However, there is an area of the Keukenhof parking lot (5,000+ spaces) reserved for people who need to park closer to the entrance. If for mobility reasons you need a space closer to the entrance, please inform a member of staff as you drive into Keukenhof so they can direct you to the correct parking area.
