The Museum of the Canals (‘Grachtenmuseum’ in Dutch) is a museum all about the history and importance of Amsterdam’s canals.

The Museum of the Canals is on a mission to become the ‘most accessible museum in the centre of Amsterdam’. Based on feedback from Able Amsterdam, the Museum of the Canals has made several wheelchair accessibility improvements — including (but not limited to) improving signage, reducing doorway thresholds, acquiring an evacuation mattress, and adding accessibility details to the museum website.

For more information, visit the Museum of the Canals website and accessibility page.

Our Lord in the Attic (‘Ons’ Live Heer op Solder’ in Dutch) houses a historic hidden church in Amsterdam’s city centre. The museum dates back to the 17th century, a time when religion could not be openly practiced by all in Amsterdam.

This museum has created a unique CoVisit experience to allow visitors with limited mobility to experience the museum by way of a camera, audio tour, and interactive map. For more information, see th official museum website.

Badass Tours offers storytelling tours about (the people who shaped) Amsterdam’s history. The tours often focus on inspirational Amsterdammers who are perhaps lesser known or talked about In history books. Since 2024, Badass Tours has partnered with Able Amsterdam to make as many of their tours as possible wheelchair-friendly.
