Wheelchair-Friendly Zoo in Amsterdam

Located in Amsterdam’s Plantage neighbourhood, Artis Amsterdam Royal Zoo was founded in the early 1800’s. The zoo is home to a diverse range of animals and wildlife, from reptiles, birds and butterflies, to elephants, giraffes and chimpanzees. Toilets

Artis Amsterdam Royal Zoo has a number of wheelchair-friendly toilets. The toilet at the Planetarium, for example, has an electric sliding door. There are grab rails on either side of the toilet. All amenities are within reach, except the toilet paper (which is quite high). Wheelchair users can turn full circle in the space, and side transfer from one side.
