Museum Het Schip
Museum Het Schip is located in Amsterdam’s Spaarndammerbuurt. The museum is dedicated to the origins and importance of the ‘Amsterdam School’, an art and architecture movement. Here, you can learn about some of the most influential architects in Amsterdam. Interlinked with these architects is establishment of local housing corporations — and the positive impact this had on quality of life for Amsterdam’s working class. The museum has a range of videos, audio clips, and interactive exhibitions.
Every hour, Museum Het Schip offers a guided tour of the outdoor area of the museum. Please note that only a limited part of this guided tour is accessible. The old post office is wheelchair-friendly; however, the old slum dwelling and social housing home are not.
