Nxt Museum

Founded in 2020, Nxt Museum is a unique museum dedicated to New Media Art. The museum includes various interactive multi sensory exhibitions that involve movement, light, and colours. Nxt museum even has an online virtual gallery here.

Accessibility

  • Ground floor entrance with manual door (approx. 2 cm threshold)

  • Entire museum is on the ground floor

  • Low lockers available

  • Accessible toilet with grab rails

  • There is one wheelchair available to borrow

  • The ticket machine screen is too high for wheelchair users. I recommend purchasing a ticket online in advance

  • Spacious exhibition halls

  • Some writing with explanations of exhibitions is too small and high for wheelchair users to read when seated

  • The gift shop is accessible

Nxt Museum has an wheelchair-friendly toilet which can be accessed via the adjacent cafe. inform a member of staff so that they can guide you to the wheelchair-friendly toilet and unlock the door. Click here for photos.

Parking & Public Transportation

  • Close to public transportation (3 min)

  • To get as close as possible to the museum with public transportation, take the free ‘Buiksloterweg’ ferry from Amsterdam Central Station to Amsterdam Noord. Then ride 1 stop with bus 38 in the direction of Buiklosterham.

  • The museum has a disabled parking space (please email the museum in advance to reserve and share your registration plate)
